For small-batch trial orders, we use the same standards as mass production. Same raw materials, same production processes, same quality checks. Trial products have the same load-bearing capacity, appearance, size, and material as mass-produced ones. We won’t reduce quality because the order is small.
5. What is the lead time for developing a new mold for a custom grating?
The delivery time for new molds of custom cast iron square gratings depends on several factors. These include grating size, structure complexity, rib layout, load-bearing design, and surface pattern. The whole process is standardized, and the lead time is stable.
Normally, after you confirm the drawings, dimensions, structure, and load-bearing requirements, the new mold development takes about 25 to 35 days.
This period includes: mold design, mold material preparation, mold processing, testing, first trial molding, and product adjustment. We will produce qualified samples that meet your needs for installation, size, appearance, and load-bearing capacity.
For simple standard square gratings, the mold development time can be shorter. For complex types such as special shapes, heavy-duty designs, special anti-slip patterns, or installation slots, mold processing and testing time will be longer. But we will try our best to shorten the time to avoid delaying your sample testing and project schedule.
Once the mold is finished and trial production is approved, we can start mass production right away. Later bulk delivery will stay stable.
